great bookIt kept me in suspense snd had interesting characters。 It had a very believable plot。 Mr Koontz always writes great books

What you would expect from Koontz。 An exciting plot, extreme danger and action as well as good people who have big challenges。 I was surprised there was no Golden Retriever in the story but a fox named Michael J Fox added the animal element to the story, a very smart fox。 The plot was interesting and chilling at the same time。 This is a story of which nightmares can be made。

I’m not sure how to rate this book。 It was a quick read and not terrible I just wasn’t as enamored with the story as I usually am with Koontz。 This story for me was more like oh okay sure that could happen but I’m supposed to be reading thriller/suspense。 I wouldn’t recommend this book to a friend。

Writing style that is so flowery and waxing poetic it gets in the way of a good suspense story

Brilliant new read from Dean Koontz。 Imagination overflow。 How this author comes up with so much fear and horror in a story I will never know。 The words flow into your imagination as you try and understand what could be going on, what will happen next, and how it will end。 Absolutely loved it。

Your standard Dean Koontz book。 A protagonist that's a badass, dealing with a malevolent and and sci-fi-esque enemy, with government cover-ups and conspiracies。 While this didn't have me itching to read the next chapter like some Koontz books, it was still an interesting story that I enjoyed, just not a stand-out effort。 Your standard Dean Koontz book。 A protagonist that's a badass, dealing with a malevolent and and sci-fi-esque enemy, with government cover-ups and conspiracies。 While this didn't have me itching to read the next chapter like some Koontz books, it was still an interesting story that I enjoyed, just not a stand-out effort。 。。。more

Always love Dean Koontz。Loved the storyline and love the fact that Mr。 Koontz leads people to understand that blind faith in government issues is a foolish endeavor。 We must be diligent in our observations and truly investigate who our leaders are and not blindly follow them。

or his best work…。Play engaging stories。 I have read better from this author。 Story seemed to meander into unnecessary avenues often。 Would look for others from this author before this one。

Different and entertainingGood read。 I had to look up definitions for 30 words, which I appreciated。 Completely different but sadly all to possible。

Originally。。。 I was confused af, because I couldn't tell if what was occurring was real。。。 or imaginary, because the sequences started happening so randomly, it didn't make any sense。 Finally, I accepted what was occurring as real, so that's when I really got into the book。 I found it entertaining, face pace, like most of Koontz work。 Also, the narrator did an amazing job as well。 Originally。。。 I was confused af, because I couldn't tell if what was occurring was real。。。 or imaginary, because the sequences started happening so randomly, it didn't make any sense。 Finally, I accepted what was occurring as real, so that's when I really got into the book。 I found it entertaining, face pace, like most of Koontz work。 Also, the narrator did an amazing job as well。 。。。more

Wow! I finished this book。 Although I have read Dean Koontz forever, I seem to always forget the style in which he writes。 Getting through one of his books takes a lot of perseverance He has a way of just rambling on and on and on。 The story probably would have taken half of the length of the book。 I was very surprised that this book did not have a dog in it, although a previously dead dog was mentioned。 However, the addition of the fox (Michael J。) was different and interesting。 Katie certain Wow! Enjoyed this book!! Reading this book going back to the past and then to the now。 I was thinking the creature was one thing when it turned out to be another。 And the main character was quite the warrior for all she had endured。 I would recommend you read this book! Dean Koontz tells quite the story and had me guessing longer than most。

This book was so well written。 I was my first of Dean Koontz and will not be my last。 I was on the edge of my seat the whole time。 There were multiple I audible said “well damn”。

Barbara Russell

Awesome story!True to Koontz’s mastery of rhetoric, this exciting book takes you into the horrifying reality of “what could happen” in real life。 His descriptions allow your imagination to see the horror through the girls eyes and you’re with them the whole terrifying way! Definitely worth reading!

DisjointedThis story has some great characters but most seem flat。 The premise is never well defined, in my opinion。 I did love the fox!

Bill Stevens

How?How does Koontz turn out these stunning novels at such a pace。 Another gem。 The complexity and beauty of his writing never fails to amay。

Another good one!Love Dean Koontz books。 Always make you think, and told in a way that is easy to read。 So much can happen in this world that we know nothing about。

Meh。 I didn't really enjoy this。 Pacing was slooooooow, the characters were unlikable and/or unrelatable, and the story was unoriginal and predictable。 Meh。 I didn't really enjoy this。 Pacing was slooooooow, the characters were unlikable and/or unrelatable, and the story was unoriginal and predictable。 。。。more

Ubelievableor is it? So many secrets so much supported evil surrounding us。 When will we take notice? Am I strong enough to resist to rebel?

0。5 ☆ because Libby is a badass。10 hours of my life I can't get back。Honestly, I used to love Dean Koontz, so when I saw this I was quite excited to listen to it since I hadn't read one of his in a while。 Cue snoozefest 2023。The first 4 hours are an extremely descriptive but boring explanation of Katie's life, where she lives, what took her there, etc。 I kept sticking with it because 1。 I couldn't be bothered to look for another audiobook on KU and 2。 I honestly thought it would start getting go 0。5 ☆ because Libby is a badass。10 hours of my life I can't get back。Honestly, I used to love Dean Koontz, so when I saw this I was quite excited to listen to it since I hadn't read one of his in a while。 Cue snoozefest 2023。The first 4 hours are an extremely descriptive but boring explanation of Katie's life, where she lives, what took her there, etc。 I kept sticking with it because 1。 I couldn't be bothered to look for another audiobook on KU and 2。 I honestly thought it would start getting good at some point Then the big thing happens and it's like。。。 ooooh!
